Details

Calder McLaughlin is a prolific performer around Leicester and on this night he will present his new band to The Donkey as part of his current promotional campaign. Calder adopted Leicester as his home in 2005 and has been plugging his anthemic and emotive songs ever since landing here. The 2011 album Chapters and Phases documented his boy to man story of free spirited dreamer, to parent. Known for his gravelled tones and passionate delivery he has matured into a more dynamic and sensitive vocalist with an appealing range of textures. \"My abilities have caught up with my ego a bit.. [:)] \" The band have taken many of Calder\'s songs and whipped them up into epic, stadium sized proportions, whilst others are given the stripped back, personal and acoustic treatment. Expect anything and everything from up-lifting to tear jerking; triumphant to sombre; summery to pensive. It is, all in all, life affirming music.
