The core trio of Arcelia is Gavin Alexander, Teresa Gallagher and Simon Foster, who are regularly joined by Martin Elliott on bass and Perry White on piano. Arcelia (pronounced Ah-KELL-ia – meaning ‘treasure chest’ in old Spanish) are a soulful folk trio from the valleys of Kent with an exquisite sound which has been likened to Crosby Stills & Nash, America, Paul Simon and Squeeze. They regularly perform and tour with Chris Difford and Yvonne Lyon and have been in demand as a support act for the likes of Scott Matthews, Oysterband, Coope Boyes and Simpson, Boo Hewerdine, Michele Stodart and Maddy Prior. Following their 2014 debut ‘Wrap Your Bones’, albums ‘Building on the Land’ and ‘Pick Up the Pieces’ reveal Arcelia continue to evolve into an exceptional songwriting and performing unit, further exploring everyday life and loves.
