All the way from the deep south of Leicestershire, South Congress consists of a husband & wife, father & daughter, and a couple of old timers who have graced the local music scene for longer than they can remember. Featuring lap steel guitar, mandolin and banjo, alongside the usual guitars, bass and drums, they create their own take on the Americana sound to be found emanating from the clubs & bars of the South Congress area of Austin, Texas. The sound ranges from sweet gentle harmonies to foot stomping floor fillers. Whether its unplugged for that back porch down home feel, or plugged in for a swampy, driven sound, South Congress keep it tight and let it loose, all at the same time. Expect some originals, some covers and some original covers.
